JOBS:

We believe we can protect jobs and support employers by eliminating red tape and costly regulations that stifle economic growth. We must work to energize job creation and economic growth in our state, and provide a better quality of life for our citizens.   Many businesses have been adversely affected, that they are choosing not to grow their businesses in New Hampshire because they can’t afford it. Higher taxes are not encouraging businesses to grow, which in recent months has resulted in a reduction in hiring and declining revenues for the State of New Hampshire

Today, New Hampshire’s unemployment rate is a whopping 7% just below the national average of 8.5%. The unforeseeable end of being Unemployed is causing struggling families to begin to worry about the future for their family.  I myself have been out of work for 18 months, looking within the newspapers, internet, and word of mouth, but with weight restrictions due to a past injury, it has made my goal of employment that much harder.  We must create an atmosphere within New Hampshire that is business friendly.

Did you know New Hampshire has the 11th highest corporate tax rate in the country at 8.5%?  Yet, Small Businesses are the largest employers in the State Of New Hampshire, so why are we limiting their growth by over taxing, those that are the revenue base of our economy, by way of initiating a job debilitating LLC tax, along with major increases in Vehicle Registration, Inspection, and Licensing fees which stifle the growth of private transportation, utility, and construction businesses that are determined to create good paying jobs, in New Hampshire.

BUDGET & SPENDING:

The budget in Concord has consistently increased over the last 10 years. Last years budget increased by 17%, with a Democratic majority.  I am greatly concerned that in only 2 years, the budget has seen a sharp increase in spending. This years Budget may increase 6-10%, it also shows that NH has not aligned themselves with other states budgets that on average cut their budget by 5%.  .  We must restore sound solutions to the direction of our state by cutting taxes, reducing spending, and limiting special interest funding of that which does not create incentives to the majority of the middle class taxpayers .

TAXES:

The taxpayers demand accountability for their hard earned tax dollars.  I will vote to defeat bills that would increase the Income Tax, Meal & Room Tax, Gasoline Tax, and Sales Tax.   We must continue to build roads, noteworthy schools, protect ourselves from crime, and limiting loss of property or lives, by properly funding the Transportation, Education, and Public Safety Sectors, but with a fiscally sound budget, that provides vital services, but does not increase debt nor over capitalizes on the local and state taxpayers of New Hampshire.   I will Abide by the New Hampshire Advantage, no new broad-based taxes and seek to lower or not increase those taxes already on the books. I truly believe in Less Spending means Less Taxes.

 GUN RIGHTS:

The New Hampshire Constitution; [Art.] 2-a. [The Bearing of Arms.] All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.

I am a supporter of protecting Individual Self Defense Rights, The fact that Firearms have been responsible for saving multitudes of innocent lives is, unfortunately, one of the worlds best kept secrets.  Indisputable studies have concluded that there were 2.5 million "defensive" uses of firearms every year.  Most protective gun uses do not even involve the discharging of a weapon. But, by Simply displaying the firearm is often used to eliminate a threat, with less than 3% of these instances ending in injury or fatality of an assailant. Obviously, By looking at the number of senseless fatalities that guns prevent, it is apparent that the greater good is being served by protecting ourselves as armed citizens.

SUPPORTING OUR MILITARY MEN & WOMEN:

I 100% support our US Armed Services and their mission.  I believe New Hampshire and the U.S. Government should support the Soldiers of our Armed Services and provide everyday needs of the families and providing superior healthcare as a show of appreciation for their sacrifices to serve. I find it unsettling to think our current military returning from the Middle East, being treated as our Vietnam Veterans were treated. That is why I am a supporter of “The Pease Greeters”, that show their gratitude by welcoming home loved ones that served at Pease National Guard/Air Base in Portsmouth, NH

PARENTAL RIGHTS:

In 2007, the legislature passed HB184 which removed the constitutional right of parents to be notified of their child’s health decision when that decision involves an abortion. This particular legislation disturbed me.  We as parents, by law are the primary caregivers of our children. We would be 100% responsible for their wrong doing to a degree by way of neglect, while providing shelter, food, and healthcare.  So why are we not to be included in our "childs" physical and mental well being???

Our high school youth ages 14-17 year-olds cannot go into their school nurses' office for an aspirin, nor can they go into their doctors' office and be treated without the "WRITTEN CONSENT" of an adult.  Why then, would the state legislature believe that a 13 year-old with child, is capable of making a decision on their health by way of terminating the child by unnatural expulsion from the uterus, resulting in it's death.

In every legislative session since 2007 legislators have attempted to regain parental rights to no avail.  In 2008, they attempted to pass HB1588 to protect out-of-state minors. This would have required any person performing an abortion on an unemancipated minor to verify the minor’s state of residency and to abide by that state's laws regarding parental consent. HB 1588 failed in the House.

In 2009, legislators tried with HB274, which would have required parental notification before abortions could be performed on unemancipated minors. This legistlation failed by a vote of 228-148. Legislators tried again with HB62, which would have required young women under 15 years of age to provide proof of counseling prior to obtaining abortions. This, too, was defeated by a vote of 222-146. In 2010, HB 1454, was introduced which would require parental consent for medical procedures and medications provided to minors.  It is still in committee with the majority status of inexpediate to legislate and a minority status of ought to pass. Additionally, constitutional amendment CACR29, would provide that the state shall not abridge the responsibility of parents for the health, education, and welfare of their children. Status: House voted inexpedient to legislate 249 to 96.
